Gel generally lasts longer, although the most suitable option depends on your nails, lifestyle and how frequently you like to change colour.
How long does OPI gel colour last?
OPI advises that a professionally applied GelColor manicure can last for up to three weeks. The actual wear will depend on your natural nails, nail growth, daily activities and aftercare. Results cannot be guaranteed for a particular length of time.
Will gel colour damage my natural nails?
Correct professional application and removal should help protect the condition of your natural nails. Damage is more likely when gel is picked, peeled or removed forcefully. Always follow the aftercare and removal advice given by your nail technician.
How is gel applied at re:new removed?
Gel applied at re:new can be professionally softened and removed using an appropriate soak-off method. The product should never be picked or peeled from the natural nail. Please tell reception that you require removal when booking so that sufficient appointment time can be allowed.
Can you remove gel applied by another salon?
No, we do not remove gel applied by another salon because we cannot guarantee which products were used, how they were applied or the condition of the natural nails underneath. Please arrange removal with the original salon before attending your appointment at re:new.
Can I have a manicure if my nails are short or weak?
Yes, natural nails do not need to be long to benefit from a professional manicure. Your nail technician can shape and tidy the nails and recommend an appropriate finish. Please tell us about splitting, peeling, sensitivity or previous nail damage before treatment.

How should I prepare for my nail appointment?
Tell us when booking whether you already have gel or another product on your nails. If it was applied by another salon, it must be removed before your appointment. Avoid cutting or picking the cuticles immediately beforehand. For a pedicure with traditional polish, bring suitable open-toed footwear.
How can I help my manicure last longer?
Wear gloves when cleaning, gardening or using household chemicals, and avoid using your nails as tools. Apply cuticle oil regularly and follow the advice given by your nail technician. Do not pick or peel gel colour if it begins to lift.
When should I avoid or postpone a nail treatment?
