We colour with Neal & Wolf, a professional permanent, demi- and semi-permanent range built from intermixable, high-pigment shades — giving your colourist real room to formulate exactly what your hair needs, rather than picking from a fixed shade card.
The whole range is vegan-friendly and certified under the Leaping Bunny programme, so it is never tested on animals, and it follows the industry-standard ICC numbering system so results stay consistent from one appointment to the next.

What professional hair-colour services do you offer?
At re Hair + Beauty in Woodhall Spa, we offer personalised permanent, demi-permanent and semi-permanent colour services. These include balayage and hand-painted colour, highlights and foils, dimensional colour, grey coverage, toning and colour correction. Every recommendation is based on your hair, complexion, lifestyle and desired result.
Do I need a consultation before booking hair colour?
Yes. A professional colour consultation allows us to examine your hair, discuss its colour history and condition, and understand what you would like to achieve. We will explain what is realistically possible, the maintenance involved and the likely cost. A colour consultation at re costs \u00a320.
Why do I need a hair-colour patch test?
A patch test helps identify a possible sensitivity or allergic reaction to ingredients within hair colour. At re, a patch test is required at least 48 hours before your first colour appointment. We cannot proceed without the required test, even if you have previously coloured your hair elsewhere.
What should I bring to my colour consultation?
Bring photographs showing colours you like, along with pictures of anything you would prefer to avoid. Please tell your colourist about previous permanent colour, highlights, home colouring, henna, colour removers or chemical treatments. A complete colour history helps us recommend the safest and most achievable result.
What is the difference between balayage and highlights?
Balayage is a freehand technique in which colour is painted onto selected sections to create a softer, more natural transition and forgiving regrowth. Traditional highlights normally use foils to create more precise brightness from closer to the roots. Your colourist will recommend the technique best suited to your desired result.
Can you cover grey hair without making it look flat?
Yes. Grey coverage can be personalised to create anything from full coverage to softer blending. Carefully selected shades, highlights and lowlights can introduce depth and dimension, helping the finished colour look natural rather than like one solid block. We will discuss your preferred level of coverage during your consultation.
Can I go from dark hair to blonde in one appointment?
A significant change from dark to blonde may require several carefully planned appointments. The result will depend on your natural colour, previous colour, hair condition and desired shade. We will always prioritise the condition of your hair and be honest about what can be achieved safely at each appointment.
Can you correct hair colour that has gone wrong?
We offer colour correction following a detailed consultation. Corrective work is highly individual and may require strand testing, more than one appointment or a gradual plan. Please tell us everything previously applied to your hair so that we can assess its condition and recommend the most appropriate approach.
Which professional hair-colour brand do you use?
We use the Ne\u00e4l & W\u00f8lf professional colour range. Its permanent, demi-permanent and semi-permanent shades can be intermixed, allowing our colourists to create personalised formulas rather than selecting one fixed colour. The range follows the International Colour Chart numbering system for consistent professional formulation.
Is Ne\u00e4l & W\u00f8lf professional hair colour vegan and cruelty-free?
The Ne\u00e4l & W\u00f8lf professional colour range is vegan-friendly and approved under the Leaping Bunny programme by Cruelty Free International. This means clients can enjoy professionally formulated colour from a range that does not test its products on animals.
Can you colour dry or damaged hair?
This depends on the condition and history of your hair. Your colourist will examine its strength, elasticity and previous chemical treatments before recommending a service. We may suggest a strand test, conditioning treatment, modified colour plan or delaying a major change if colouring could compromise your hair.
How often will my hair colour need maintaining?
Maintenance depends on the service, your natural colour, hair growth and preferred finish. Root coverage generally needs more regular appointments, while balayage and lived-in colour usually offer softer regrowth. Your colourist will explain the expected maintenance before you commit to the service.
How can I keep my salon colour looking good at home?
Use professional products recommended for your hair and avoid washing it more frequently than necessary. Very hot water and excessive heat styling can affect its condition and appearance. We stock ELEVEN Australia colour-care products, including the Keep My Colour range, and can recommend suitable homecare for your individual colour.
