Waxing, done comfortably
Hair removal is routine, but it should never feel careless. We take time over preparation, work in small sections and look after the skin afterwards.
We use Lycon, an Australian professional wax made with natural resins, beeswax and aromatherapy oils — chosen because it grips the hair rather than the skin.

LYCON
Grips the hair, not the skin
Lycon is formulated with natural resins, beeswax and aromatherapy oils, and shrink-wraps around each hair as it sets — which is why it can remove hair as short as 1mm.
A pre-wax oil creates a barrier so the wax lifts the hair rather than dragging at the skin. That is the difference you feel.

Frequently asked questions
LYCON is a professional waxing system designed to remove short and stubborn hair while helping to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Its low-temperature hot wax shrink-wraps around the hair rather than simply sticking firmly to the skin.
LYCON combines specialist wax formulations with professional pre-wax and post-wax products. Its hot wax remains flexible and is designed to grip short hairs closely. The system allows the therapist to select the most appropriate wax and technique for the area being treated.
Hot wax is applied to the skin and removed without a paper or fabric strip. It is often selected for smaller, sensitive or intimate areas. Strip wax is applied thinly and removed using a waxing strip, making it suitable for larger areas such as the legs. Your therapist will choose the appropriate method.
LYCON waxing can be used on many areas of the face and body, including the eyebrows, upper lip, chin, underarms, legs, bikini area, back and chest. Please check re:new's current treatment list or speak to reception to confirm the service you require.
LYCON hot wax can remove hair as short as approximately 1mm. However, results depend on the area, hair-growth cycle and whether the hair has recently been shaved. If you are unsure whether your hair is long enough, ask our beauty team before your appointment.
No professional waxing service can guarantee a completely pain-free experience. However, LYCON's low-temperature, flexible hot wax is designed to grip the hair closely and make removal more comfortable for most clients. Sensitivity varies according to the area, individual and stage of the hair-growth cycle.
Certain LYCON waxes are formulated for sensitive skin and delicate areas. Your therapist will assess the skin before beginning and select an appropriate product and technique. Please tell us about allergies, skin conditions, previous reactions or unusual sensitivity when booking.
Allow the hair to grow sufficiently and avoid shaving immediately before your appointment. Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying heavy body oils, moisturisers or fake tan to the treatment area that day. Tell your therapist about relevant medication, skincare products, allergies and recent skin treatments.
Freshly waxed skin may be temporarily sensitive. Follow the personalised advice given by your therapist and avoid unnecessary heat, friction and strongly fragranced products while the area settles. This may include hot baths, saunas, intense exercise, swimming, sun exposure and fake tan.
The length of time varies according to the treatment area, your individual hair-growth cycle and how regularly you wax. Because hairs grow at different stages, regular appointments can help establish a more consistent waxing routine. Your therapist can recommend an appropriate booking schedule.
Ingrown hairs can occur when a growing hair becomes trapped beneath the skin. Gentle exfoliation and suitable moisturising between appointments may help, but these should not be started immediately after waxing. Your therapist can recommend appropriate LYCON aftercare and explain when to begin using it.
Some prescription medicines and skincare ingredients, including retinoids and strong exfoliating acids, can make skin more fragile or sensitive. Tell your therapist about all relevant medication and products before treatment. We may need to adapt, postpone or decline the service and may recommend seeking medical advice.
